Our last meeting of 2009 was last Thursday. We had a small audience of devoted relatives and friends, some of whom were, I hope, impressed with our performance of Mozart's Symphony No 40, a piece I doubt very much if we could have played with such success a couple of years ago. We had a party, sorry to say goodbye to Judy, and grateful for all she has done for us over the past few years. I hope Judy will send me a message for the blog.

Some of you have had difficulty in leaving comments, which I think is easier if you have a Google account, quite free and useful for some other functions too. If this isn't easy, send me an e-mail at lyoulten@aol.com if you have any message for me, your fellow musicians or the world at large. Is there anything else we could be doing? Do we need a blog at all?
A very Happy Christmas and New Years greetings to all, (or should that be "both"?), my readers. Looking forward to our first meeting with Peter Fields in charge on Thursday 7 January 2010.
I was very sorry once again not to be there, to say farewell to Judy and to see all the other players to wish them Happy Christmas. I apologise for having attended so irregularly recently; I was at an artists' & writers' colony in the USA for six weeks, Sept/Oct, and then had various literary commitments. I shall try to come at the start of the next term - not least because I am delighted Peter Fields will be in charge - but my wife and I are in South Africa 18th Jan - mid-Feb (assuming BA lets us travel, so I shall miss some more of next term. ReplyDeleteGreat photo, Lawrence. Many thanks to Felicity for manning the camera, and to all the devoted relatives who came along to the party. We really do appreciate their support.
